About Girls On Top!
Girls On Top! is a groovin’ dance band featuring a song list of the greatest soul, funk, and R&B tunes from the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s. GOT! is composed of 7 talented musicians, including 3 spirited and sassy female vocalists. Funny, smart, and sexy, Girls On Top! doesn’t just play the songs you love to hear…we put on a hot show that has the crowd on its feet with an uncontrollable urge to shake their collective booty. GOT! playing your event is a guaranteed good time for all!

The Story of Girls On Top!
Girls On Top! originated in the unlikeliest of places, the 1999 Denver regional premier of the western musical Quilters. While playing bass in the pit orchestra, GOT! founder Tim “Baby Face” Cross had a vision of creating a 60’s style band, with three female singers – sort of like the Supremes, only the women would take turns being Diana Ross. Tim did not have to look far for his sultry sirens of song: he chose his favorite 3 of the all-woman cast, grabbed a couple of the pit musicians, and got to work. The result? A tradition set from the very beginning of a tight musical groove, with three threatrical front-women, who understood the importance of camaraderie and showmanship.

That approach has remained consistent over the last 10 years: Girls On Top! is committed to providing a show that is as entertaining to watch as it is to listen to. In addition, each band member brings a wealth of experience and varied musical backgrounds – rock, classical, jazz, world music - which combine to create a unique sound and a musical footprint that can only belong to Girls On Top!

Our Mission
The musicians of Girls On Top! are a family. Watching the band interact with each other, the audience understands that these people really enjoy being together. This enjoyment is infectious, and leads the audience to want to get in on the action. This is the goal of every Girls On Top! Performance, to encourage the audience to be part of the fun, whether by dancing with wild abandon, by singing along to their favorite tunes, or by celebrating on the tables – provided that has been approved by the venue!

The audience-oriented, inclusive nature of Girls On Top! performances is one of the things that sets the band apart, and has allowed us to retain our popularity over the last 10 years, with a strong community of supporters and fans. In fact, in 2008 Girls On Top! received accolades by the readers of the Boulder Weekly and the Colorado Daily, as runner up and honorable mention for the readers’ choice for Best Local Band.

Venues
Girls On Top! frequently performs at musical clubs and venues throughout the Denver/Boulder metro area, as well as such notable Colorado festivals as the Boulder Creek Festival, Bands on the Bricks, 29th Street Live, Rhythm on the River, and Taste of Colorado.
